It is a testimonial theatrical action on the borders of theatre, song, ritual and dance. The one-woman show by the actress born in Masin, Peru, Carlina Derks Bustamante, is based on a personal search for her place of origin.
The work weaves together different fragments of the actress's personal memories, in dialogue with social and political events that occurred in the 1980s in Peru, which form part of a collective memory of a people marked by political violence.
The creation is inspired by water as a sacred symbol and the guiding thread of the story. Carlina returns to Peru at a time when there are strong debates about water, which leads her to investigate the symbolic meaning of this element.
