AZUL - A singing performance in homage to the women guardians of the waters of Cajamarma (Peru). In this artistic intervention, music, theatre and video come together to speak to us in a poetic way about the defence of water.

For the research of this work, we visited the rondas of Celendín and Bambaparca, who defended several lakes in these areas that are being threatened by mining. It is a tribute to the water martyrs, who died during the uprisings in 2012. The video “Warmiyaku” contains images and testimonies of the struggle to defend water in Cajamarca.
