Yakukutaki is a musical group that, through the recovery of the sound memory of the people, investigates and compiles various Latin American rhythms and folklore from other regions of the world, with the purpose of singing to life. Its name in Kichwa refers to the song of water.
Their music gathers and is inspired by various traditional rhythms from the Andes, but their exploration covers a very diverse range of rhythms and styles. The proposal seeks to revalue ancestral cultures and the different social struggles that are experienced in our continent and in the world.
The group, made up of musicians from Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, uses music as a tool to vindicate identities and as a form of resistance.
